Gertie is a neighborhood restaurant in Williamsburg serving new school Jewish-American comfort food. At Gertie we offer a more hip/fresh take on everything at grandma's place from house-baked bialys and babkas, appetizing relish trays, to soul-satisfying staples like sweet and sour brisket and rotisserie chicken with schmaltzy rice. In addition to its "good food, every day," Gertie is known for its natural wine program which features some of the most exciting up-and-coming American producers. We are committed to bringing our community together during this uncertain time and we hope that you will join us in our effort. Thank you!
At Gertie we felt that in a crisis, we New Yorkers should and will always come together. As soon as the crisis hit our restaurant community we wanted to help those on the frontlines of the virus every day. Whether they be healthcare workers, seniors, homeless or unemployed, it is time for all of us to unite and do what we do best - be hospitable and serve a warm meal. Restaurants are meant to be restorative and there's no other time where this is more essential.
